AP Chemistry:DataPeriodicTrendsElectConf1011 Oh dear. Better late than never.
AP Chemistry: As you know I periodically communicate through the blog. I am uploading your weekend assignment: WSElectronStructure&PeriodcIntroAP and it promises to be electrifying! AP Chemistry: Hot topic for today, due Tuesday (tomorrow!): It was very, very hot in room 211 today! HOW HOT WAS IT? It was so hot that my 100 g chocolate candy bar vaporized. So now that poses my problem. I enjoy my candy bars frozen. Assuming my candy bar was just ‘like water for chocolate,’ how much energy in kilojoules would be required to cool my now vaporized candy bar from 110 degrees C to -5.0degrees C ? Honors Biology Climate change…how do we know what we know about the climate on earth 160000 years ago? Did early Homo sapiens have thermometers? Your presentations this week will help us answer this and other questions regarding evidence surrounding global warming. We will attempt to understand what, why, and how scientists provide the information to support or refute evidence of human impact on climate change. Good Evening! We will make one last ditch effort to revisit topics in chapter 4, ‘Aqueous Solutions’ by completing the ‘Review…’ aqueous solutions worksheet listed as assignment #18 under pull down menu in unit 2. You will have one more quiz next Monday 10/31 (spooky) on balancing redox (and this will be quick!) and then we move on to one hot topic: thermochemistry!
Hi! Hope you are enjoying the weekend…thanks for checking in. Click here to go to the graphing website. You are to answer the graph analysis questions and complete the ‘Tree Growth’ graph found under ‘graphing problems.’ Be sure to refer to the helpful information about preparing a graph on paper and then self-assess it using the graph evaluation rubric found at the bottom of the same page. This is the criteria I will be using to assess your work. Also, please share your lab report draft with me on Google docs. Each person should be sharing their own, then you may collaborate on one final lab report. I should be seeing the introduction, materials, procedure, results sections by Wednesday, October 12th. Any questions, you can always email me!
Thanks for checking in with me on Thursday with your assignments…I know the titration video lacked excitement but it is informative and please be sure to view in preparation for lab. I’ve decided to just get you started with titration on Tuesday, it may take two class periods to complete. Next, please check the assignment page under Unit 2-Aqueous Solutions and complete assignments #’s 13 &14 for Tuesday Oct 11th. Finally, prepare for a quiz on prepping solutions for Thursday…You should refer to learning targets #6,7,8. Find learning targets for this unit using pull-down menu. Use your preparing solutions lab questions, worksheet Reactions in Aqueous solution and text book to study. That’s all for now…hope you enjoy the long weekend.
Good luck to you doing your NECAPS next week, I will miss having you in class. So that we don’t get too far behind I am posting a few assignments for you to complete for Thursday, Oct. 6th. Please use the ‘AP Chemistry’ pull down menu and find them under Unit 2 ‘Aqueous Solutions’ in the ‘Assignments and Assessments’ section. Complete assignment #’s 10,11&12. I am uploading a copy of the assignments although you should have a copy already. You can either share your prelab question responses with me in person or upload them and share them with me (use my school address) on Google docs by Thursday the 6th. Please save them as ‘Your last name_Class name_assignment title.’ I would also recommend that you go back to your summer assignment, ‘Chapter 4 Guided Reading’ and questions and reread, review, and redo questions in the solution stoichiometry and titration sections. Finally, give these assignments an earnest effort as we are losing quite a bit of time together. Please check here for another assignment on Thursday, Oct 6th evening for you to complete for class Tuesday, Oct 11th. Email/see me with any questions prior to assignment due date. See you in a bit! PS. I am working on a out of school day lab schedule, taking into account all of your busy schedules. I am sure there is no way to accommodate everyone all of the time, so we will all need to be flexible.
Hello! I told you that I would post your homework questions and I did! Please look for them in the assignment/activities section found under the ‘Introduction to Biology’ section. Click on the document link and viola! Have a great weekend…get outside and be productive!
